January & Duy got married this summer and had a beautiful wedding right in the city’s heart: their wedding took place at Toronto’s historical landmark and museum – Casa Loma. This splendid castle on the hill takes you back in time and is definitely a unique place for a wedding.
The wedding day started with a western style event, followed by a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony held in the Conservatory. The amazing décor had fuchsia and charcoal colors featuring real large orchids, crystal candelabras, and fuchsia chair covers, which gave the conservatory a very vibrant look. This was all put together by the talented team of Enevents planners – Eleni Edwards and Nathaniel Jameer.
We made a quick stop at the library for a few family pictures in traditional Vietnamese outfits. Once January was changed back to her white wedding gown, we headed to the Casa Loma Estate Gardens. This five acre garden has a gorgeous view of the entire castle, impressive fountains, lovely sculptures, and a stunning array of perennial flowers; what a perfect location for wedding pictures!
I have to admit that it was a very hot summer day. As expected, there were lot of tourists visiting Casa Loma at this time of year, but surprisingly not many were down in the gardens. We had plenty of time to photograph January & Duy and we had taken full advantage of every possible spot we found. I especially like the photos of the couple kissing on the balcony with the castle on the background.
The wedding reception had a unique décor: hanging floral chandeliers with large orchids over each table, beautiful wedding cake decorated with orchids from The Wedding Cake Shoppe placed on clear lucid stand, which was filled with crystals and additional fuchsia gorgeous lights that lit the room.
Beside all of the details, the evening program was quite impressive:
Bride & Groom’s two dances, champagne toast, cake cutting ceremony, the shoe wedding game, Bollywood dancing performed by January’s friends, and a line dance lead by January & Duy’s dance instructor.
To conclude this post I will say; thank you January and Duy for choosing me as your wedding photographer, it has been an amazing experience working with you and capturing this unforgettable wedding in the city’s castle!
