It has been a while since I last updated my blog. The wedding season has started and I have been very busy taking pictures! This June only, I had 4 weddings and here is the first wedding I want to share with you.
Anna and Alexey got married on June 3rd; their day was beautiful, it rained and then it stopped, and the colours of the leaves and flowers were so vivid under the amazing light.
The day started with family and friends all gathered at the Toronto Wedding Chapel for Anna and Alexey’s small and intimate ceremony. Right after the ceremony we headed to the Edward Gardens for more pictures. As we were waiting for the rain to stop I got a chance to take some portraits of them inside of the limo. It is rare when there is only one wedding at the park and in that case, it was theirs. It soon cleared out and I could not believe how gorgeous the park looks right after the rain. I really enjoyed our portrait session in the park. I was even able to discover some new spots that I had never used before. Anna and Alexey trusted me with predicting the weather and I was so glad we did go to the park to get these great portraits of the two of them. Their wedding reception took place at the Golden Lion Restaurant, which is also part of the Kings Garden Banquet Hall. I always enjoyed small weddings, since it is easier to get to know the families a little bit better. I want to say a special thank you to the groom’s father; Igor, he kept us laughing all day! Somewhere in the middle of the dinner, the owner of the restaurant asked me if I wanted to see sister venue, the Kings Garden Banquet Hall, and since it was Sunday there was no wedding and she offered to let us in to taking some pictures. I photographed a wedding there before, and I liked the place a lot. But this time it looked even better with no furniture, and since there were no people around, it looked like a ballroom. Anna and Alexey were very excited too and as result we got some amazing shots inside. I loved the chandelier and its reflection in the mirror, high ceilings and nice warm light. Later, the party was at its best, guest were dancing and having so much fun with the evening program put together by MC – Yury Ruzhyev. To conclude I want to say this was a fun wedding and a great couple, who I really enjoyed working with and capturing this special day of their lives.
