Sheila and Artie are adorable! These two are perfect together; I met with them last year and knew right away that a great session would be on the works. The inspiration for this engagement shoot came to me from learning more about Sheila and Arties, and knowing that both liked vintage style as well as the use of props appropriate to the theme. After exchanging a few emails and getting together, we had decided and confirmed all the details and booked a date for this session. This vintage inspired picnic engagement photo shoot was made possible in one of my favorite places in Toronto that is just a few blocks away from my place – Liberty Village. This place was ideal; it has the look and feel of what we had in mind for this session. One of the settings that we did had a beautifully set table with hot chocolate and sign that stating: “She said yes”. I particularly like those shots, since everything looked so nice and in harmony. The other set was a cute picnic basket and blanket on the grass, where Shiela and Artie were comfortably sitting under the tree. I just love those extra props and another sign that said: “ 1+1=2”. This one was one of Shiela and Artie’s favorite photos, so much so that they decided to enlarge and displayed at their wedding later on. Another series of shots were against this lovely mural that has an amazingly huge flower spreading all over the bricked wall. Also, a few little details that we had to include, such as wooden “love” sign, the little house all of those together symbolizing Shiela and Arties love for each other and a new beginning as a new home together! Not to mention, the cozy and sweet portraits were also taken and the Liberty Village Market & Cafe, I love their interior, since it worked out to be the perfect spot to capture some nice pictures. As we approached to the end of our session the sun was becoming stronger and could not resist for not taking pictures of shadows that looked pretty cool. Enjoy and stay tuned for Shiela & Arties wedding photos from their wedding at Bellvue Manor and Evergreen Brick Works.
