Some of you might remember Jessica & Peter`s studio maternity photography session, where we applied the art of wrapping with multiple styles and a wide variety of colors. We all really enjoyed the session and Jessica and Peter were thrilled with results.
Just about month later, Jessica and Peter had a baby boy: Cameron. I received the email from Jessica 3 days later to book the newborn studio session and here we are…
Cameron was 9 days when we first met him. He is so adorable and handsome. It was so easy to photograph Cameron, since he slept for the most part and opened his eyes for a few shots that was able to capture. It is always nice to get some sleeping portraits and others when the baby is awake.
For this newborn studio session we decided to go with vintage inspired props and keep the color in the brown tones. Usually we aim to get at least 3 different solo portraits, but depending on the baby it could be more. As an example, Cameron cooperated so well that we managed to get more looks that we usually can, not to mention the family shots as well as individual portraits with the baby.
We decided that, a vintage suitcase was perfect for the pictures of Cameron sleeping on top of it, as well as we also propped it to put the baby inside, like a little crib.
I really liked the effect of the brick wallpaper, it was a perfect themed background. One of our favorite props is the wooden bowl that has a shape of the leaf, and it always has a different look, depending on the background and color combinations. One of the things I purchased specifically for this session was a vintage Paris-inspired looking case. When we transferred sleeping Cameron on it, I was lucky to get some shots of him look straight in the camera. To complete our session we decided to introduce a bit of color and we wrapped Cameron in baby blue blanket and laid him on hand painted Douppioni silk.
Overall this was very successful session with amazing results. I could not resist printing a beautiful leather bonded album to showcase this stunning newborn photography studio session!
