Toronto Maternity Studio Photographer | Stacy is going to be a BIG sister
April 3, 2012
Maternity photography sessions get a complete new perspective when there are older sisters and/or brothers involved in the process.
When I saw Stacy`s anticipation in their eyes, I could not help but to think about future days; when she will be able to enjoy looking at these pictures, and remember what thoughts and feelings she had in her mind at the time, while being portrayed with her parents and her future brother.
Natalia and Michael practise medicine in Moscow, where they live, and they came to Toronto to visit their parents. They were referred to me by our friend Dasha, who hired me as her maternity photographer back in 2008.
I was in my early twenties when I visited the capital of Russia for the first time. It is quite an amazing city, with unique architecture and an impressive variety of art museums, centers for the performing arts, circuses and historical places. I went to a fashion competition, hosted by International Vogue Assembly, and I was very glad when I won the Grand Prix for fashion photography. I stayed in Moscow for a week, and I was fortunate enough to see the parade for Victory Day in the Red Square, commemorating 60 years since the end of the Second World War.
When Natalia and Michael first contacted me, I had to work my schedule around in order to make sure that I would be able to take their maternity portraits during their stay in Toronto. Since at the time I was travelling in Mexico, it was a bit of a challenge!
Nevertheless, we were able to coordinate wonderful maternity and newborn photography studio sessions one week before their return tickets to Russia.
During the photo session, we had conversations about ideas that we wanted to explore, and we also talked about international travel experiences.
It was a delightful session, and I am sure it will be a source of memories for days to come 🙂
