I met with Sandra & Mark at the Toronto Musical Garden to photograph their engagement session. That day was a perfect reflection of Spring: warm, sunny, decorated by all the flowers that were blooming, and their fresh smell surrounded us delicately.
One specific fascinating detail caught my attention was a flower named "Lyre-flower". These pink heart-shaped blossoms, which are a symbol of undying love, and they can be found in Siberia as well.
Engagement sessions are great, since they give me a chance to get to know the couple better; it also makes them feel more comfortable in front of my camera before the wedding day. I love photographing in the morning, especially in usually busy places like Toronto Harbourfront, since there are less people around and it is possible to focus more without frequent interruptions.
I was able to capture some very romantic portraits of Sandra & Mark and learn more about them: how they met, what they do and their interests.
As we walked down while I was taking pictures, I noticed from our conversation that Sandra and Mark love to travel as well. Their next trip, which happens to be their honeymoon, is going to be 2 weeks vacation in French Polynesia, usually known by its main island – Tahiti. I have been dreaming of this paradise on earth for a long time and definitely would love to go there one day. I also found out that Mark has done the same Inca trail hike that I did a few years ago to Machu Picchu in Cusco, Peru.
I had a great day and really enjoyed photographing their engagement session. I was feeling super excited to photograph their wedding at the Spirale Banquet and Convention Centre and I am looking forward to sharing more stories about our commonly shared wanderlust!
