One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is taking shots of two people in love and seeing both of their families become one family. It is always amazing to interact with a group of close friends and family and to see everybody happy and being part of the union of the newlyweds. There is no exception for Erika and Junior tying the knot and having an amazing party, filled with lots of fun, music, dance and food. When I first met Erika and Junior and learned that their wedding would be held at White Oaks Resort in Niagara-on-the-Lake, I knew it was going to be beautiful. It is a new location for weddings and I love exploring more of the Niagara region. The day started with Erika and Junior getting ready at two different locations and then seeing each other for the first time of their special day right at the altar of St. Vincent De Paul Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The ceremony was so touching. I loved photographing in this church; it was beautifully lit with available light and had a nice balcony where we were able to get some nice photos looking from up down to the ceremony. I enjoyed seeing little kids in their wedding party; they always make the wedding party extra cute. Right after the ceremony, right outside of the church we encountered blooming trees and could not resist snapping a few shots of the bride and groom and their wedding party. One of the requests of Erika and Junior was to have some photos taken right at the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake downtown in front of the Clock Tower. The limo driver, who was quite familiar with the area, dropped the bride and groom right on the middle of the road in a safe zone so we could start our pictures right away. I love the street shots with Erika and Junior in the middle and with all the traffic on the other side, it seemed as if it was planned to be that way. There were a few other spots along the street that caught my attention, the building right in front of the Clock Tower was one of the older buildings built in the early 19th century. Not to mention, White Oaks resort itself is situated in one of the little oasis and they have an amazing little green park, where we completed our photo session with the wedding party and family. A beautifully decorated hall and amazing lit room was ready for the introduction of the newlyweds. I must say the reception was fun, and thanks to Erika’s brother and his wife, who MC the evening and made it extra fun. All the speeches and toast were so touching, I particularly loved one from Erika’s co-worker, who had made a song/reading about Erika and Junior and made the crowed laugh for 10 min non-stop. The DJ played a great set of music and had the guests dancing. To end the evening, there was a midnight buffet that everyone enjoyed. Thank you Erika and Junior for inviting us to be part of your day and we feel very special being asked to document this beautiful day for you.
